На базі НВК "Школа-садок "Софія" відбувся другий тур ІІ етапу Всеукраїнського конкурсу "Вчитель року - 2016" у номінації"Англійська мова".

On January, 21 in Lviv ITTI  the first stage of the All-Ukrainian contest “The Teacher of the Year” was held.

As a starting point other participants and I had to cope with the writing test on Methods of Teaching English, Pedagogics and Psychology.  We had an hour and forty-five minutes for this to be done.

After the short break we started participating in workshops.

I must say, it was extremely interesting to get involved into the activity, as we`re

all teachers and we`re all students. I tried to cooperate with my colleagues in every possible way.

Each of us had to give the presentation  with the help of audio-visual aids interactively in 15 minutes.

Enormous paper and computer work was done beforehand. But personally for me it is a very rewarding experience. I regret I did not take part in the contests of the previous years. That is a real challenge, I must admit.

My thanks go to the whole team of organisers and the jury. Without their marvelous cooperation this contest would not have been possible.

My personal result exceeded all expectations!   It inspired me a lot for further occasions.

Today we`re participating in the second stage. We`ll have to present the English Educational Project on the topic “Continuing Education through the Holidays”.

Finally, I wish all the participants lots of joy along with success today and when implementing new ideas in their classrooms. I hope we shall start networking.

               Ukrainian Unity Day

Ukrainian Unity Day (Den' Sobornosti) marks the anniversary of the unification of eastern and western Ukraine in 1919. It is celebrated on January 22 every year. Unity Day is a Ukrainian observance that commemorates the Treaty of Unity signed on January 22, 1919.
The story behind Unity Day dates back to January 22, 1919, when eastern and western Ukraine was united through the Treaty of Unity. Historically, up until 1919, these territories – Ukraine's People Republic and West Ukrainian People Republic – often belonged to different empires.
The agreement was aimed at creating a unified Ukrainian state, a movement long awaited by the intelligentsia on both sides.

The territory of Ukraine, divided over the centuries, including Galicia, Bukovyna, Carpathian Ruthenia, and Dnieper Ukraine will now become a great-united Ukraine. Dreams, for which the best sons of Ukraine fought and died for, have come true.», - was written in the text of the universal made by the Directorate of the Ukrainian People's Republic.
The history of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Finland originated in 1918. Finland was one of the first countries which recognized Ukraine in 1918 and opened its diplomatic mission in Kyiv.
The Ukrainian diplomatic mission was established among the first six foreign embassies in Helsinki. Later, the historical destinies of two countries went by different roads: Finland managed to hold its independence, but Ukraine has become a part of the Soviet Union for a long time.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Finland invites all interested persons to join us at a Ceremony in commemoration of the first diplomatic representation of the independent Ukraine at Meritullinkatu, 15, Helsinki where the diplomatic mission of Ukraine was located during 1918 - 1921 on the Ukrainian Unity Day, January 22, 2015, at 11 a.m.
